Who we are:

duncan-mcaulyChairman - Duncan McAuley

Duncan is responsible for overseeing and guiding the activities of the club in accordance with its rules and general policy. He also represents the Club at BCU regional level and at meetings of other organisations. Basically he does more paperwork than he would like to and eats more cake than any other member.

letty_fletcherSecretary - Letty Fletcher

Letty is responsible for the organisation and the recording of minutes relating to such meetings as well as all correspondence relating to the general business of the Club. She is responsible for membership and general information whilst being available to aid and assist the other members of the committee in their roles. She also makes a great cuppa and runs a productive bed and breakfast.

nicky-cresserHead Coach - Nicky Cresser

Nicky is responsible for all matters concerning training and competitions. So it’s his responsibility to ensure that all coaches and team ‘captains’ are acting in the interests of the club and ensuring the club as a whole benefits from consistent high quality coaching and training.  He is known by all for his stern, authoritative and no messing approach to life and canoeing… not really! He is often delayed by idle chit chat and laughing too much though.

Treasurer - Ian Davison

Ian is responsible for the collection of all monies including subscriptions and keeps the accounts as required by the General Meeting. He produces a report at the AGM showing the financial state of the General funds. He also makes the committee aware of any existing or potential financial or cash flow problems. Ian manages to do all this whilst looking like action man and obsessively building pontoons.

General Member-  Mark Cresswell

Mark is around to support and assist any member of the committee in any area which they require assistance. He does much of the liaising with other groups across the region representing the club on a variety of different boards and committees. In his spare time from everything else he also teaches the Army how to drive.
