On Saturday 25th June the Tigers converged on the Centre with the aim of readying ourselves for the National Championships competition.
Entries have been slowly coming in and with the pitches all being moved on to the northern bank of the Tees, there was lots to do. We’ve been making up the sections of pontoon since we took delivery of them a few weeks ago and taking them out onto the river, but we had quite a few more to go! There were all of the other jobs that needed doing such as clearing out the centre, sorting pitch ropes, ensuring that we have all of the necessary equipment for pitches, treating the pontoons etc.
It was great to see so many people down to help including a fair few parents and new members all lending a hand. There’s still plenty to do in the run up to national champs, but we’re making good progress, a few sets of goals will arrive on Monday and the last remaining pontoons will go out on Monday after Hull, work in progress, but ample time, well hopefully…
Thanks to all those who helped and made the day worthwhile.
To those new to Tigers or Canoe Polo, come down on the 9th or 10th July to the Watersports Centre to see what it’s all about and to get the chance to watch the best teams in the country compete against each other.
