		<description>Abbey Rapids Slalom Poles.

After a very bad encounter with the slalom poles, or rather that wires, when the tees was nice and high and the AWESOME play wave was riding high, I would be interested to know if there have ever been any other incidents involving kayakers or even just debris being caught on the wires.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=480j1Whav1Q

This video shows the level that some of the wires are at when the Tees gets high. fortunately it wasn't too high and as such only 2 or 3 wires were of significant risk to paddlers.
This incident resulted in a lost paddle by a very good kayaker and could easily have resulted in a swim and therefore a lost boat.

If it is possible for the wires to be re designed so they remain out of the way even in high water conditions, that would be fantastic news for all river users who intend to use the river when it is at a challenging level.

Many thanks

		<description>Hello,

I'm a freelance sports photographer (semi-pro) and shoot football and cricket on a regular basis for local and national press and am always looking to cover other sports to broaden my experience.

Should you wish to see them, my sports pages are at: http://www.pk4images.com/menus/sportmenu.asp

I wondered if you had anyone doing action pictures? With the Tees Barrage so close I've been meaning to contact someone for a while about photographs but have struggled to find details of clubs, events, competitions etc. (I found this site through the ARC mailer).

If you have any competitions/events etc coming up and would like pictures I'd be pleased to cover one or two just for the experience.

Cheers
